The Washington DC chapter has been conducting regular Prajna classes for several years now. The classes offered ranges from Modules 1 through 5. There are 3 centers within the DC area where classes are held. For the calendar year 2022-23, we are conducting Online Classes (only) across all centers. This means, we will be happy to enroll interested students who not only live outside DC area perimeter, but may also be living in different states.
Our world has changed due to digital age. It is important that we have our children live in this new age performing Karma (action) by observing Dharma (righteousness) in their daily life. But they need to know what is Karma and Dharma. Our philosophy in teaching is to make our students get interested in Sanatana Dharma, respect our religion and harmony of religions, spread knowledge about our Vedas, Upanishads, Rishis, our Avatars (Sri Rama, Sri Krishna etc.) and to use them to live a virtuous life. We also observe events like the Krushnashtami, Srinivasa Kalyanam, celebrating Swamiji's Tirunakshatram, Sri Rama Navami, Goda Kalyanam, and more so that students get well versed with our noble history. Finally, there is fun aspect as we have the students participate in Drama at the end of the school year (such as stories adopted from Ramayana, Mahabharata etc.) As our Rishis and wise elders have been saying, religion is not for post-retirement. It has to be part of our life since childhood. Otherwise, it be comes very difficult to get interest in it at later stage. Please consider all these aspects.
